Director Lin Yung-Chih founded Taipei Puppet Theater in 2010. He broke the wall that separates the traditional puppet troupe sects and gathered the best talents in traditional puppetry and traditional music, who have led the Taipei Puppet Theater in its commitment to the preservation and learning of traditional arts. In recent years, the director has invited a wide range of artists, in the fields of theatre and opera, trying to bring the beauty of traditional puppetry to modern audiences in different ways.He specialises in the versatile use of music from Pei-Kuan, Taiwanese Opera, and Beijing Opera in Taiwanese folk theatre. In addition to performing, he is dedicated to the publication of music design and research projects and is actively engaged in the teaching of traditional arts
Artisic Director of Taipei Puppet Theater|Wu Shan-Shan (伍姍姍)
Specialising in creating theatrical atmospheres in which humans, puppets and music intertwine, the Art Director Wu Shan-Shan energises the concept of modern international theatre. She curates and directs professional performances. With her works performed in many countries worldwide, she has extensive experience in international collaborations. In 2012, she was invited by Colorado College to be the guest director for the production of Taipei by Night for their students. In 2021, she was nominated for the “Best Director” of the Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music for Tu Tzu-Chun (杜子春).

|Hsieh Chiung-Chi (謝琼崎)
Graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA), the Chief Executive Officer earned a master's degree in the Traditional Opera Group of the Traditional Arts Department. She is now a lecturer in the Department of Music at TNYA, teaching Pei-Kuan. She was under the tutelage of renowned Pei-Kuan musicians, including Chiu Huo-Jung (邱火榮), Lin Shui-Chin (林水金), Wang Sung-Lai (王宋來), Yeh Mei-Ching (葉美景), Lai Mu-Sung (賴木松), and Chiang Chin-Shu (江金樹). In 2000, she joined the traditional puppetry industry as executive staff and backstage musician.Apart from teaching in the theatre and schools, she is also involved in academic research projects related to traditional arts. She has compiled and organised many living folklore materials and put them into practice in the actual performances of the troupe.

|Wu Sheng-Chieh (吳聲杰)
Starting learning traditional Taiwanese puppetry in 2005, Puppeteer Wu Sheng-Chieh has studied under the tutelage of Chuang Chen-Hua(莊陳華), a representative master of Chinese puppetry, an Intangible Cultural Heritage. He was also trained under the Pei-Kuan musician Chiu Huo-Jung (邱火榮), the Classical Taiwanese Han language educator Liao Kun-Chang (廖昆章), as well as Li Chuan Tsan (李傳燦) and Cheng An-Cheng (鄭安成). He was nominated for the “Best New Artist” of the 29th and 30th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music for The Prequel of "Legend of White Horse, the Hero" —Legend of Chashan (白馬風雲前傳—茶山風雲) and Guarding A-Tou (雙龍護斗) respectively.

|Chen Ssu-Ting (陳思廷)
The puppeteer was introduced to traditional puppetry in 1997 when she joined the Chiao Wan Jan Puppet Troupe of Pingdeng Elementary School, Taipei City. After graduating from university, she joined the Taipei Puppet Theater. She explored traditional formulaic styles under the supervision of Liao Kun-Chang (廖昆章), and Classical Han language, with Hung Tse-Nan (洪澤南). The young puppeteer is a rising star in the troupe. She was nominated for the “Best New Artist” of the 32nd Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music for The Daring Lying Lantern Monkey (白賊燈猴天借膽).

|Liao Chun-Wei (廖群瑋)
Puppeteer Liao Chun-Wei is a native of Lunpei, Yunlin County. Influenced by his family, he was immersed in an environment where he developed a great interest in traditional puppetry. He formally started to participate in the "Golden Light Puppetry (金光布袋戲)" and carried on his family business. In 2018, he joined the Taipei Puppet Theater to learn traditional puppetry performances. Later, in 2019, he enrolled in the "Traditional Arts Successors — In-Residence Training Program" promoted by National Center for Traditional Arts. The puppeteer won the “Best Lead Puppeteer Award” in the 1st Young Lead Puppeteer Competition of the Yunlin International Puppet Theater Festival.

|Lin Jui-Teng (林瑞騰)
Puppeteer Lin Jui-Teng is a native of Hsilo, Yunlin County, and is the third generation of the renowned Sheng Ping Puppet Troupe . From an early age, his father led him into the world of traditional puppetry. At the age of 16, he could independently take charge of "Civil Performances (民戲)*". The puppeteer went to northern Taiwan for further studies to improve his skills and knowledge. He joined the "Successors of Traditional Arts — In-Residence Training Program" promoted by the National Center for Traditional Arts in 2020 as a front-stage trainee of the Taipei Puppet Theater.

| Wang Hsiang-Liang (王祥亮)
At the age of twelve, Musician Wang Hsiang-Liang joined his father at their local Pei-Kuan troupe, Yung-Hsing Hsuan (永興軒), and developed a great interest in traditional music. Since then, he has frequently participated in folk temple fairs in the Taipei Metro Area. In 1990, he joined a professional troupe as a backstage musician and toured the world with his troupe. The musician has been a dedicated member of the Taipei Puppet Theater and has been performing as a backstage musician or a front stage assistant according to the troupe's performances.

|Lin Ching-Cheng (林璟丞)
Musician Lin Ching-Cheng grew up in Hsinchuang Old Street. He has been fascinated by the traditional Taiwanese temple fair culture since he was little and has long been a member of the Pei-Kuan troupe. Guided by his teacher Lin Yung-Chih (林永志), he joined a professional puppet theatre in 2007 and learned how Pei-Kuan music is used in traditional theatres. The Musician went to Fuchien, Chuanchou, to learn Chuanchou puppetry music from Hsu Sui-Lien (徐瑞簾) and Huang Kuang-Huang (黃光煌). In 2008, he performed as the lead drummer in a Pei-Kuan play at the Yen-Yueh-Hsuan Pei-Kuan Theatre Troup (延樂軒北管劇團), displaying his talent in traditional music.

|Lin Chen-Hung (林宸弘)
Born in Tanshui, Lin Chen-Hung is a lover of traditional arts and has been a fan of temple fairs, gongs and drums, traditional music and old Taiwanese songs since little. He was trained under the tutelage of Master Chiu Huo-Jung (邱火榮), who was awarded the National Living Treasure, and he studied Pei-Kuan at the Nanpei Troupe (南北軒) in Tanshui. He is now a backstage musician at the Taipei Puppet Theater. In addition to studying and researching traditional arts, he also crosses over to other combinations, blending Pei-Kuan with other art forms such as modern dance and pop music.

|Liu Shih-Wen (劉士聞)
After graduating from Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA), the musician studied and performed with the Taipei Puppet Theater and Chiu Huo-Jung (邱火榮), who was awarded the National Living Treasure, during her study.She has participated in international arts festivals with the Taipei Puppet Theater and other art groups. She is also an experienced musician in collaborative cross-disciplinary performance in the fields of popular music, theatre, and dance.
